Background: Carrie Thomas Scott, MA, LCPC graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from JFK University in 2001 with a specialization in Somatic Psychotherapy and additional certification in Child Play Therapy. Her post-graduate studies include Comprehensive and Advanced Level Trainings in the Hakomi Method of Experiential Psychotherapy, and she became a Certified Hakomi Therapist in 2005. Carrie completed the facilitator training in Right Use of Power™ in 2004 and since has assisted and co-taught workshops in both the Hakomi Method and Right Use of Power™. In 2010, Carrie completed the Level I Training in the Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy approach to working with individuals and families.

In addition, Carrie has completed a certification in the Peterson Method of Prenatal Counseling and Body-Centered Birth Hypnosis (2011), attended a professional training seminar in Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting with Nancy Bardacke (2012), completed a Level I Inner Kid’s training with Susan Kaiser Greenland emphasizing mindfulness based strategies with children (2012), enrolled in a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course (2012), and completed a Simplicity Parenting Group Facilitator Training (2013). Carrie is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and is registered as a Licensed Supervisor in the State of Idaho. She has over 10 years’ clinical experience using body-centered, mindfulness techniques to facilitate greater awareness for more fulfilling lives and relationships. She is currently in private practice in Hailey, Idaho and works with children, adults, couples, and families, with a focus on mindful parenting and holistic prenatal counseling.
