
Too often, what we mean to convey and the message that is actually received are not the same. Every day, this simple disconnect leads to familial misunderstandings, political incidents, wrongful terminations, and other unintended negative consequences!
Finding simple ways to increase your own awareness around your intentions and your impact on others is a powerful way to practice right use of power. In this article, I illustrate some of these practices with examples from my recent experience as a teacher in a grades 1-12 school in Indonesia.
