Dr. Cedar Barstow, D.P,I., M.Ed., C.H.T.

​As Founder and Director of the Right Use of Power™ Institute, Dr. Cedar Barstow has been designing, developing, and teaching the Right Use of Power™ approach since 1994. She is most passionate about sharing and spreading the ideas of right use of power to the world. Cedar has written two books, Right Use of Power: The Heart of Ethics and Living in the Power Zone: How Right Use of Power Can Transform Your Relationships, and offers trainings internationally on right use of power. She also serves as a consultant in ethics and power issues for individuals, groups, and organizations. She is a certified Hakomi therapist and trainer and serves as a consultant to the Hakomi International Ethics Committee. In 2017, she earned the degree of Doctor of Psychosocial Intervention (D.P.I.) from the Parkmore Institute. Cedar enjoys consulting and coaching about issues of power and designing and teaching programs to help people learn about power dynamics and using their power with wisdom, compassion and skill. Magi Cooper, C.H.T.

A certified Hakomi trainer and therapist in private practice, Magi Cooper, C.H.T. facilitates Respectful Relationships and Relationship Violence-Prevention Programs for the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General in British Columbia. Since her first Hakomi training workshop with Jon Eisman in 1992, she has been committed to the spiritual principles and practices of Hakomi. Standing firmly in the principle of non-violence, she has been an advocate for domestic peace for over 20 years. She brings compassion, mindfulness, and loving presence to her work with marginalized populations as well as a deep understanding of Cedar Barstow’s work of Right Use of Power. She is a Right Use of Power Advanced Teacher, a RUPI Board member, and one of the few RUP teachers specializing in advanced teacher trainings for others. Magi has been co-facilitating RUPI trainings with Cedar for many years and looks forward to each new training.
